Practices
How often a swimmer should attend practice depends on both his/her age and the level at which he/she trains. The coaching staff will create special workouts for swimmers who, for reasons beyond their control, cannot participate in regular workouts. If a swimmer cannot attend the recommended sessions due to scheduling conflicts, illness, injury, vacation, etc., please contact the coaching staff to discuss.
Swimmers should be at practice between 5 and 10 minutes before practice begins. Please notify the coaching staff if you become aware of a scheduling conflict that will result in a swimmers need to join practice late.
Swimmers that are more than 10 minutes late to practice will not be admitted into practice that day, unless approved by the coach before practice begins that day.
Swimmers should stay for the entire practice each day that they are present. In the event that a swimmer must leave practice early, a parent or guardian should inform the coaching staff before practice begins that day. Swimmers will only be allowed to leave practice early if they are dismissed by the coaching staff at the request of a parent or guardian.
Proper swimwear must be worn to all practices. Girls must wear one-piece bathing suits. Boys may wear jammers, or trunks with a liner, jammers, or compression shorts beneath. We highly recommend that swimmers do NOT wear their approved team suit to practices. No jewelry or smart watches. If a swimmer is not in proper wear, they will not be allowed to participate in practice that day.
Swimmers may bring water and sports drinks only into the pool area.

Other
Swimmers are expected to follow directions from coaching staff at all times.
At no time will disrespectful attitudes be tolerated from any swimmer or parent/guardian.
Foul language, lying, stealing, and/or vandalism are intolerable. These behaviors are directly contrary to the objectives of CREST and are detrimental enough to our program to warrant strict disciplinary action.
All swimmers are expected to encourage their teammates at both practices and meets. Working as a unit benefits all individuals and is an important part of our program.
For any problems other than coaching, a board member is to be contacted. Only direct coaching issues are to be brought to the coaching staff.
Meets
Swimmers must wear their team suit and team cap at all meets. Long hair must be in a ponytail, braid, bun, or other up-do. All jewelry must be removed. Any swimmer who fails to follow these requirements will be scratched from their events that day. Goggles are highly recommended, but not required.
The consequences of a swimmer not showing for a meet without notifying the coaching staff will be determined by the coaching staff. These consequences may include not being entered in the next meet. If a no-show affects a relay team, the absent swimmer may not be allowed in a relay team in the next meet; a second offense of this manner may bar the swimmer from any relays for the remainder of the season. If you have entered a meet and cannot attend, notify the coaching staff ASAP.
Parents/Guardians must enter their swimmers in each meet they plan to attend. Details and deadlines will be announced at practices. All final entry decisions are reserved for the coaching staff.
It is the swimmer’s responsibility to see that they get to the starting blocks for all events. If a swimmer misses an event and it affects a relay team, the swimmer may not be allowed to swim on a relay at the next meet. Excessive missing of individual events may result in reduced meet entries.
Disclaimer
CREST is a competitive swim team which provides experienced coaching staff to teach competitive swimming skills and techniques. In order to successfully learn and execute these skills, swimmers must first have no fear of water and be able to swim at least 25 yards unassisted. Each swimmer's success will reflect their comfort level with water, effort and willingness to learn, attendance, and so much more. Please keep this in mind as you decide whether swim team is right for your child. No refunds will be issued after a swimmer is registered unless it is determined by the coaching staff that the swimmer is unable of participating in practices safely.
